Adults

For adults (18 years and older), treatment in the specialist mental health care (SGGZ) is reimbursed by Dutch health insurance companies.

Treatment within the SGGZ is through the ZPM system. Treatment rates are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority. The cost depends on the nature and complexity of the treatment. The rates set by the NZA for treatment can be found here.

KSP has no contracts with Dutch health insurers. Depending on your policy, treatment is fully or partially reimbursed. With Dutch basic insurance, usually about 70% of the costs are reimbursed. Foreign or international insurance policies (Cigna, JSIS, Allianz) often do reimburse all expenses. It is advised that you contact your health insurance prior to treatment to find out how much of the cost will be reimbursed for you.

To be eligible for reimbursement through health insurance, a valid referral letter and a diagnosis are required. The referral letter must include the name and AGB Code of the referring physician, the (suspected) DSM diagnosis, and referral to the SGGZ.

Children and adolescents

For young people (up to 18 years old), the hourly rate is €188. Treatment in specialist mental health care (SGGZ) is reimbursed through the municipality. KSP has no contracts with municipalities, which means that you will have to pay yourself unless you have a PGB (personal budget) through the municipality. Most international insurance policies (Cigna, JSIS, Allianz) also reimburse treatment for children and adolescents under 18 (in full).
